SPEAKER_02

Welcome to another episode of the episode for seven the dark. Phew, pew, pew mini episodes. And this is seven the dark, episode number four. Uh I'm Charlie, joined by Justin and Mike. You're wondering why I'm hosting this because it's usually the winner that hosts. Well, if you listen to the last one, I fucked around and won. So you did no homework for you. Oh my god. I was fretting this. I was anxious. I was like, everyone's gonna know I'm an idiot because I can't put together. A trivia contest.

SPEAKER_01

We have a little pretty low uh distribution right now.

SPEAKER_02

So you're gonna only a few people know then. Just friends and family.

SPEAKER_01

I mean a few million.

SPEAKER_02

A few million. It is in Morocco. Sweep, sweet. So just Justin, how do we finagle this? That somehow while Charlie's hosting, he ends up winning the game start.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. I'm sure there'll be a way. We don't know anything. If you go negative, he gets the point.

SPEAKER_02

If you both go negative points, but I'm not I'm giving away points now. Okay. All right. Let's try to keep this a mini episode, not a maxi episode. All right, we're gonna have four categories tonight, guys. A little break of tradition. We usually do three. Nice. Um, so there are going to be you randomly pick a couple of these. I'll throw out a number, and we'll just go through a draft, and you pick a number and I'll write down, and then whatever question you get, you get. And I don't want to hear you complaining about it. And some of these questions have multiple answers. Okay, okay. So you could get like the the stab in the dark double, right? You could get one little question, and there's two answers. Oh, wait a minute. And if you get it, you get it. I mean, it's just random. Okay, let's let's go ahead and get just started. The first category is called first name, last name. First name, last name. Okay, so what I'm going to give you is the name of the movie.

unknown

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_02

And you give me the last name. Okay. Or I'll give you the last name, and you give me the first name. Some of these are super easy. That's why I had to do it randomly. Some of these are not easy at all, but you know, let's just see what happens. Sounds good. Let's do it. Okay, I'm gonna go ahead and start a tally for Justin, Mike, round one, two, three, and four. Okay, so this first one is like I said, first name, last name. All right, let's do this real quick. Justin, you go first. Pick a number between one and fourteen. Six. Okay, Justin's got number six. Mike, pick a number. Eight. Mike's got number eight. Justin, another number. What the hell? Eleven. Eleven. Justin's got number eleven. Good choice. Mike, go ahead, pick another one. One. All right, Justin. Two. Mike. Three. Justin. Thirteen. Oh, you asshole. Mike. Five. Five, seven, five. Justin. Four. Mike. Twelve. Okay. Justin. Seven, fourteen. Ten and nine are still open. Nine. Okay, Mike. Seven. Justin, you got ten and fourteen. Okay, Mike. Ten for Mike. Okay. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven each. All right. So we're just going to start from the top of the list. And Justin, you picked number one, so you're going to go first. The movie is number one.

SPEAKER_01

Mike picked number one. Oh, Mike. Sorry.

SPEAKER_02

I can't read my own handwriting. Mike picked number one. The movie is The Exorcist. I'm going to give you the last the first name of this character, and you have to tell me their last name. And it's the main character, Reagan. What is her last name? They are the God. This is really a lot harder when you're on the spot. It is. We've been telling you. I don't think they say Reagan's last name, but they call you know, they call Reagan's mom, like they call her Mrs. Whatever, like so many, like a hundred times. But it's worth. Damn it. I'll pass. I'm so stupid. Alright, there's no stealing here. No stealing.

SPEAKER_01

So the most you can get a seven, and that's right.

SPEAKER_02

Seven is it. Seven's all you're gonna get. Okay, Justin, we're going to number two. You got an easy one. Give us the answer. Oh, it's Reagan McNeil. McNeil. Damn it. Uh-huh. Yeah. Good Irish girl. Justin. The movie is Psycho. The movie is Psycho. Oh no. The main character's last name is Bates. What's his first name?

SPEAKER_01

That's Norman.

SPEAKER_02

All right.

SPEAKER_01

Fortunately, I got an easy one. Sorry.

SPEAKER_02

There's a few easy ones out there. Exorcist one's easy and I should know it. I just haven't watched that movie. Okay. Here's another sorry, Mike. Here's another tough one. Okay. He picked up. He did. He did. The movie is The Omen. Now we know the evil character's name. First name is Damien because you hear it a thousand times. But they also say his last name several times, and his dad's last name is all over everything. What's his last name? I got nothing. Thorne. Thorne. I would never pull that last name.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Justin. This one's kind of a medium one. The movie is Dusk till dawn. From Dusk Till Dawn. This is one where you have multiple answers. So you can get more points here. The family's last name is Fuller. Can you tell me? There's dad, the daughter, and the son. Can you tell me their first names? Any of them. Or all three of them. Frank. Nope. Linda. No, not Linda either. You got one last shot. Dusty. No. The girl, the girl is Kate. Kate. Kate is the girl. Scott is the son. And Jacob. I mean, there's this whole monologue with George Clooney and what's his name? Kaitel. And if they just sang his name over and over, Jacob, Jacob, Jacob, Jacob. All over the movie.

SPEAKER_01

I couldn't have gotten Cluny's name or Tarantino's name.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, Mike, you get an easy one. The movie Hatchet. Oh. Have you seen it? Once. Okay. The main the killer's last name is Crowley. What's his first name? I got this one. Victor. You're on the board with one. Yep. Yay. Yay. Okay. This one's kind of in the middle. The movie is ready or not. Ready or not.

SPEAKER_01

Man, I don't pay attention to their names.

SPEAKER_02

What is the family? The evil family. What's their last name? It's not La Belle, because that's the devil's last name. The guy they meet on the boat.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And it's on the door of the game room. Thoreau.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

Le Damas.

SPEAKER_01

Le Damas. You bring it in hardware.

SPEAKER_02

Lay dumbass. The dumbasses. Okay, now you gotta get this one, Mike. We just watched this. We've already we've done an episode on this one. Late night with the devil. Okay. The main character. His first name is Jack. What's his last name? Because it's like Jack Blank. Yeah. Up all night, or whatever it's called. Night owls with Jack. Uh what's that?

SPEAKER_01

We're having audio issues.

SPEAKER_02

Jack Pallets. No. Jack Delroy. Delroy. I should have known that one.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, this one's the fans are going to love this episode, by the way. Just hearing us get dunked on by Charlie.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Mike, you have the next one. Number eight. Okay. Yep. The movie is hereditary. Oh fuck. The family name is Graham. The main character. True. What's his name? Who's the main character? The guy, the dude, the high school kid. Okay. Gets his sister's head cut off. Is it Ethan? Is it Alex? So close. Peter. Oh, not close at all. Okay, Justin.

SPEAKER_01

Come on, friend of the 13th.

SPEAKER_02

You got the next one. And it's a two-pointer. Oh. Or I'm gonna give you the last name of these two characters.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Can't wait. You have to tell me what their first name is. This should be fairly easy. So the the sheriff's name. His last name is Brody. Chief Brody. Or the cop. Chief Brody.

SPEAKER_01

What's his first name? Roy? No, don't take Roy as my answer. Brody. It's uh Chief. These are all hard, kind of. Hal.

SPEAKER_02

Hal Brody. Martin Brody. Martin Brody. I knew that. Yeah. So I wasn't gonna like give you guys like Jason, what's his last name? Why not? Okay. The next character played by Is this still in Jaws? Yeah, yeah, this is the same one. It's a two two questions or two names. Quentin calls him Hoopa. Hey Hoopa. What's his first name? Roger. Is that your final answer? Yeah. It's Matt. Matt. Oh. I picked the wrong numbers. Yeah. Okay. This one. This one I actually knew. The movie is Get Out. What is the family's last name? Oh, the family. The evil family. This was for me, right? Yeah, that's for you, Mike. Um the Washingtons? Yeah, that's not right. Armitage. Armitage, yeah. Okay, Justin. The movie is Carrie. The movie is Sissy SpaceX. Okay. Her character's first name is Carrie. White. White. You got it. What's her middle name, though? No. Harlot. Okay, Mike. Here's a meatball right over the plate. Oh no. Oh no. The movie is the thing. Oh. The last name is McCready. He only goes by two initials before that. What are RJ? Yep. Okay, you guys are tied two, two. Or yeah, two, two. And the Justin's got the last two.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, you did. Yeah, he got two in a row with seven and eight. Wait a minute.

SPEAKER_02

One, two, three. Yeah, yeah. We both have two.

unknown

One, two, three.

SPEAKER_02

But Justin has questions 13 and 14. So he's two. 13 and 14. Okay. The movie is Misery. Okay. Her last name is Wilkes.

SPEAKER_01

Annie.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's a fucking Annie.

SPEAKER_01

Damn it.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, this one's a little bit tougher, but it's another two-pointer. Okay. The Lost Boys is the movie. I won't get it. Their last name is Emerson. No one's ever gonna know that. Well though. The two brothers.

SPEAKER_01

What are their first names? Mac and Max and Jacob. I don't know. Sam and Michael.

SPEAKER_02

That was close. Okay. Uh somehow, somehow Justin has three in that round. And Mike, you've got two. I mean, these weren't easy. This is you guys did Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Did a pretty good showing. Appreciate you trying to make us feel better about it. But yeah. Okay. We're not we're not name people, I don't think. This is your next category names too, because this will be a rough one.

SPEAKER_02

This is an easy one. This is one of those where we're gonna go one at a time. I'm gonna write down a number. And whoever gets closest to picking that number gets to go first. This is a I'm gonna give you one if you to pick from. If you get it, it goes to Mike. If Mike gets it, it goes to Justin. If Justin gets it, it goes to Mike. We'll go back and forth until somebody's out, and then you can steal theirs and do one more after. Okay. Okay. All right. And this category is books to movies. Movies that were first books. But the Bible excluding all Stephen King books. That's not fair. No shining, no misery. I mean, he's got like 20 books that have been turned into movies, so try higher. Okay, so just Justin picked first last time. Mike, pick a number between one and ten. Whoever gets closest. Four. Five. Five. The number was seven. Seven, five, four. So Justin, you're gonna go for it. They were on there. Okay, so this is easy. Just tell me the name of the movie that was once that was a book before it was a movie.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, so like anything. Anything. Except the Stephen King. Okay, what are you checking this on though? Like you got like, is this one of those we're gonna have to?

SPEAKER_02

I got a long list. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so if it's on the list. So Stephen King's like no, no Stephen King. Like a landmine kind of thing.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I'm not gonna like cut you out, but I'll say no, that's a Stephen King book.

SPEAKER_01

Let's start with Jaws.

SPEAKER_02

Jaws is correct. Scratch that one out. Alright, Mike. The Exorcist. The Exorcist is correct. So that's one for Mike. Psycho.

SPEAKER_00

Psycho is correct. Mike? Vertigo?

SPEAKER_02

Hmm. I'm gonna have to go to the Googles on that one because I do not have that on my list.

SPEAKER_00

Was Vertigo a book before it was a movie? The answer is yes. Justin. I don't believe it.

SPEAKER_02

Silence of the Lambs. Silence of the Lambs is correct. Mike. Red Dragon is correct.

SPEAKER_01

Justin. Alright. Alrighty, righty, righty. Let's go with You threw me off by taking the second one on that one. You know what? Let's throw out Rosemary's baby. Let's see. Let's see if it's correct.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Mike. How about Dracula?

SPEAKER_02

Dracula by Brahm Stoker is correct. Justin. No with Mary Shelley's Frankenstein as well. Frankenstein is also on the list. Mike. Um Bride of Frankenstein? Bride of Frankenstein, I'm pretty sure was not a book.

SPEAKER_00

The bride of Frankenstein. It was not.

SPEAKER_02

All right. Okay, Justin, you can two more.

SPEAKER_01

I have a question. Short stories count.

SPEAKER_02

I have some on here that I think are short stories.

SPEAKER_01

Alright, let's well, let's let's go. There's a movie called Horns written by Joe Hill. That's a book based on a book. Was that the one with Harry Potter? Daniel Radcliffe, yeah. Was Horns. It was it's definitely a book.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Justin's a Joe Hill guy. He knows. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, you can do one more. Was that not my one more? Was that your one more? It might have been. Did I start? If I started, then that would have been my one more, right? One, two, three, four, five.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, that was your one more.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, I'd like another one more, please. I mean, you guys. So that was for one point there, or how many points each.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Okay, so Amityville Horror. I Am Legends, American Psycho, Hellraiser, Birds, Interview with a Vampire, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Candyman was a book I didn't know before. Wicker Man, Woman in Black, World War Z. I know that because it's sitting on my shelf. The Ritual Audition Invisible Man. Let's write one in. All right. All right. Let me let me see. Do any of those books have pictures? Or are they of the pop-up variety? There are no graphic novels. They are not. I'm not gonna read them. Okay, after two rounds, Justin has nine. And Mike, it looks like you have six.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Does that look right? I had two. Did I get four movies there? You got four movies. Yeah. All right. Okay. Category for three. Who is in what? I like it. Right? Is that what it's called? I'm gonna give you the name of the movie. I mean, these are all A listers. These it's like if John Wayne, if his first movie was Dracula and he was like a kid in the background. You know who John Wayne is. Okay. So these are not names you're going to be like, who's the first one? He's okay in my book. Right. Okay. You're all right in my book. I just said that. I said you're all right. Mike went first last time. Justin, you're going to go first. Justin went first. Justin, all right. All right, Mike, you're good. You're going to go this first this time.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

And I'm just going to go down the order. And one of these has. Yeah, I won't even talk about that. Okay. Okay. So I'm going to give you the name of the movie, maybe what year. I didn't do a whole lot of homework for everything. So I mean, fuck it. You're doing good, man. Keep it up. All right. So I'm going to give you the movie, and you tell me the A-lister in it. And I'm going to give you an example. Leprechaun had Jennifer Aniston in it. Yes, right. That was her first movie. Yep. Right? She did nothing for a long time and then friends. Like two years later. A long time. That's enough to fall out of favor. Okay. All right. The mic is going first. This movie is called Parasite.

SPEAKER_00

It's from 1982.

SPEAKER_02

And I guess I could give a hint for a couple of these. Okay. I'll take one.

unknown

What?

SPEAKER_02

Okay, Justin, I'll give you a hint for the next. I need hints for all of them then. Okay. So Parasite 1982. She was part of the brat pack. Molly Ringwald. Is that your answer? Yeah. No. Demi Moore.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Alright. All right.

SPEAKER_01

Come on, Jimmy Leprechaun. Jimmy Leprechaun.

SPEAKER_02

Halloween 6, The Curse of Michael Myers from 1995. I know this one. Okay, he had a small part. Was it Paul Rudd? It was Paul Rudd. Okay. So let's see. Is that going to work out? Is that going to be this is going to be Mike, Justin? No, that's not going to work out. Okay. So it's going to be the same movie, but I'm going to give Mike a shot at one, Justin a shot at the other. All right. So talking about the same movie, whichever one you hit, the other person has to guess the other person. Okay. All right. So the movie is the 1992 Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Okay. Two big names. Can't miss them. There's Academy Awards in there. Each has at least one. Mostly one. At most, one each. Wait. Well, so it's not the star of the movie? It's not the star of the movie. Now these you don't even know who. Can you name who she is? Christy Swanson is both. Okay. Think of Christy Swanson times 10. What are you doing here? Not even, I mean, like, she's they are famous. Famous. Sarah, Sarah Michelle Geller. No, she was in the show this morning. I don't know who the other star is. I mean one's female.

SPEAKER_01

What are you doing here?

SPEAKER_02

One is male. That doesn't help me. Okay, are you are you up? Are you done? James Conn. All right. That is not correct. Justin. All right.

SPEAKER_01

I'm gonna go with the male. I'm gonna go with Donald Sutherland.

SPEAKER_02

No. I mean, Donald Sutherland was a big guy. I'm talking about like people who like were nobody when they were in these movies. That's not what she said. They're nobody when they were in the movie. It may have been their very first movie, just like Leprechaun, Jennifer Aniston.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

This is their first movie.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, you're not talking about Paul Rubens, Pee-wee. He was in that one. Luke. Luke Perry, or whatever his name is.

SPEAKER_02

Bigger than way bigger than Luke Perry.

SPEAKER_01

I've just named three people from Buffy the Band Paclet.

SPEAKER_02

These are A-listers right now. You're out, Justin. Sophia McGara. I don't know. Hilary Swank. Oh yeah. And Ben Affleck. We're both. Really? Okay. Really? Yep. Interesting. Okay. Whose turn is it? Mike. Well, I would like to file a complaint. Okay, same, same deal. They were not well known when they were in this movie, the person. Okay. They're a lister now. Okay. The movie is I still know what you did last summer from 1998. Okay. That whole cast. I still know. So the sequel? I still know what you did last summer, yeah. I mean, the whole cast had already been in a movie, so they were already somebody. But this guy's big. Oh, it's a guy. Just give him all the time. It's a guy. This guy's big. Chris Hemsworth. Is that your answer? That's my answer. Negative. Jack Black had a minor, minor role in that movie. Okay, so these two should be giveaways. You'll each get one of them, and it's the same movie.

SPEAKER_01

Wait, wait, wait.

SPEAKER_02

I should have my own, right? Well, yeah, you'll get one and then Mike will get the other, but it's the same movie.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

It just doesn't it seems like there's been three rounds so far. Right? Yeah. Where we've each got one. The second one we kind of split. And third one, Mike had a split.

SPEAKER_02

It was the same movie, but Mike got to choose, see if he could hit somebody first. And if he picked that person, then you would have had to say the next person. Does that make sense? Because there's two people.

SPEAKER_01

He doesn't get both. Right. So that was that was our whole round, too, right? It was a split one between.

SPEAKER_02

So the first the first one was Parasite, which I got wrong. Yes. And the next one was Halloween six, which Justin got right. Right. And then there was a which we both got guesses and we both got wrong. Both got wrong. So we're even. And then I just did the last question. So Mike goes. Mike goes first on this one. We're going. Well, Justin would go first. Justin would go first on this one. You know what? This is why you don't let me win. Justin. Justin, you're going to be. Justin goes first on this one. Give me the question. I'll tell you what the movie is. You just have to name one of those two people. Alright, we'll see. Super easy. Okay. Texas Chainsaw Massacre the Next Generation.

SPEAKER_01

1995. There's two, right? Two. You get one.

SPEAKER_02

A male and a female.

SPEAKER_01

And then I have to guess the other one.

SPEAKER_02

You pick one, he has to guess the other. Renee Zellweger. Okay, you got one point. Mike, who's the other person? Matthew McConaughey. Mike is a point.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Opportunity.

SPEAKER_02

No, it's not an extra point. It's an extra question. We just counted it out. I have not had an extra opportunity. You both guessed. One, two, I got Parasite wrong. You got Halloween right. Right. We both got Buffy wrong. So we're even there. I got whatever wrong. Jack Black. Jack Black wrong. And then we just both went again. So this one would be Justin's turn. Right. So if this Mike went first, he did this as a if this is a single question, it's Justin's turn. It's a single question. Okay. It's Justin's turn. The name of the movie. I mean, this guy's big. Okay. Jack Black. Return to Horror High. Brad Pitt. Is that your answer? You were close. George Clooney. Was it really? Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Brad Pitt was in cutting class. That's what he was in. Okay. And it was like some kind of high school slasher thing. Yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Here's another tough one. Critters three. Mike? Can I get a year? He's used to late 80s. Yeah, 89 or something.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Doesn't matter. Doesn't matter.

SPEAKER_00

They're all the same year.

SPEAKER_01

Huge. Huge. Donald Trump with a capital U.

SPEAKER_02

Let's go with.

SPEAKER_00

Let's go with. No, not him. No, not that one. Critters three. It's a guy, right? You said it's a guy, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Edward Norton. Leonardo DiCaprio. It must have been a little one. Yeah, he was small. He was a little kid. Alright. Justin, your turn. The movie was not big, but she's big. She is. The name of the movie is Children of the Corn Three. Three.

SPEAKER_01

Three. So this is a heading ago. And I don't have a year. That was 90s, right? Probably. Sure. You want if you want the year, I'll look at her. No, no, no, no, no, no. No, no, no. She is huge. She is huge. Academy Award winner. Whoa, giving away some stuff. Yeah. I like it. Not really.

SPEAKER_02

Caitlin Slott. No, she would never be in a movie like that. Everybody's in something. Or at least The Ron would be.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I think I knew that.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

unknown

All right.

SPEAKER_01

Straight out of South Africa.

SPEAKER_02

This is another Children of the Corn movie, but a different episode, whatever. Different sequel. Okay. Children of the Corn Five.

SPEAKER_01

She's huge. Lost it lost the uh lost the plot after four.

SPEAKER_02

Jumped a shark after seven.

SPEAKER_01

This one's called Children of the Soybeans. Children of the Sorghum. They crawl out of the soybeans.

SPEAKER_02

Children of the rice patty.

SPEAKER_01

It's all cranberry bogs. Have you guys heard about cranberry spiders, by the way? Yes. I have. That's horrifying.

SPEAKER_00

Lady or man? It's a lady. Lady. Damn.

SPEAKER_02

Let's go with Robin Wright. No. Ava Mendez. Yeah. Okay, so this is a little bit more recent. 2013, Justin. Twenty thirteen. Insidious chapter two. She was in it.

SPEAKER_01

She's big. Not Roseburne, obviously. City's chapter two. Shit. I'm trying to. I mean, I know it's about the the family still and Elise and everything. Yeah. Dead and all that. She had a bad part. 2013. City's two. Alfanning. I don't know. Jenna Ortega.

SPEAKER_02

I believe that was her very first movie. She's just a kid. Yeah, okay. Alright, Mike. You gotta get this one. Okay. It's a guy. This guy's huge. The movie, 1976, Carrie. John Travolta. There you go. Alright. So tied up on that round, two each. That brings Justin to 11 and Mike to eight. Still anybody's ball game. All right. Now we're gonna get to the hard stuff. Those were warm-ups. Okay. This next category is pretty easy. It's called Planes, Trains, Boats, and Automokills. And hoes. So if the horror movie happened on a boat, it counts. If airplane or motorcycle is in the name of the movie, it counts. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

So we're just in the name of it, or we're gonna go back and then okay.

SPEAKER_02

Let me let me clarify because I'm clarifying. It doesn't have to be in the name, but if it is in the name, it counts. So it could be a movie that where a vehicle, a boat, an airplane, a car, or a train figures in prominently. It doesn't have to be in the name of the movie, but if it's like happens in this car, or if this car, let me give you an example. I'm gonna take a genre only. Christine is a car movie. Okay, it's a horror car movie. Yeah, sure, right? The Evil Dead, the Delta 88, it's it doesn't count. I'm gonna I'm gonna be the final judge on this. I mean, it it follows him through the movies, but I mean it doesn't really play a factor in the movie. Hey. So if it takes place for a long time on a vehicle, let's give it a shot. Let's give it a shot. So who went first last round? Because I don't keep track. I think Mike went first last time. I think it was Mike. So let's go ahead and start it off with Justin. And I have a list. So all right. But you there might be something you name that's not on the list.

SPEAKER_01

So I feel like Jaws definitely was on a boat for long enough to count in this list. It does. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Ghost Ship. We got one for Justin, one for Mike.

SPEAKER_01

Um does Dead Calm count as a horror movie? It is a dead calm horror thriller type of movie. Is that the one with Nicole Kidman and silly zane? I think it's more of a thriller. More of a thriller, okay. Yeah. All right.

SPEAKER_02

But you know what? Let me check with IMDB.

SPEAKER_01

Well, if you check with IMDB and we get it, and and you give me a final vote, then it does, then I'm out, right? If it does not you would be out.

SPEAKER_02

I don't want to risk it. Oh. What? Psychological. I already counted that as your answer. Psychological thriller thriller, horror, thriller. Okay. So that's one for Justin. All right, Mike. Train to Boosan.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Oh, great one. Justin. Snakes on a plane. Correct. Mike.

SPEAKER_02

Uh let's do uh Death Proof.

unknown

Oh.

SPEAKER_02

Death Proof counts. I was wondering if you guys are gonna get that one. Justin. Maximum overdrive. Maximum overdrive also counts. Mike. Um dual? Dual, a classic counts. Justin. Okay. I feel like Joyride's gotta count. Joyride, Joyride is on the list. Mike. Let's see. Screamboat. Oh. Screenboat Willie? Yeah. I think it's just called Screamboat. Is it?

SPEAKER_01

Okay. It counts. Alright, just. I feel like Mike may have unlocked some of his mind that are uh this is his thing. A whole nother thing that dabbled in. Let's do it. Alright. Alright. Okay. Hear me out. I don't I'm listening. I won't count this as your buying. I feel like if a major character was decapitated while they're in a car, it should count on this list. Hereditary? It should count. That's not a car movie right there.

SPEAKER_02

It is not a car movie.

SPEAKER_01

It's a car movie. Okay. There's a movie-up movie. Called Spare Parts. That is about. Hold on. Don't stick me with it though yet. No, I'm gonna stick him. I'm just gonna look at it. How about I mean, if if Dead Calm is one, then Red Eye should be one as well. Red Eye is one. Mike.

SPEAKER_02

I watched this one not too long ago. It's called Locked.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, it's bad, right?

SPEAKER_02

Locked.

SPEAKER_01

Locked. The whole thing is that.

SPEAKER_02

Bill Skarsgard and is locked in a car the whole time, and Anthony Hopkins is torturing him. Dan Raimi produced it. Thanks. Alright, Justin.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. You can go ahead and knock me out, but this one's gotta be in there. It is the Twilight Zone movie.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. It is in there. Okay. Because there's the ambulance and then there's the airplane. Right. So yes, that counts. Mike. I'm gonna go with Friday the 13th, part eight.

SPEAKER_01

They are on a boat for most of that movie. For part of the movie. Most. But they go to Manhattan.

SPEAKER_02

It's Jason takes Manhattan and they're in Manhattan for about 15 minutes. All right.

SPEAKER_01

I actually put that one on the list because it's so fucking stupid. Alright, Justin. No, I had one and then he said that. There's a few good ones out there. How about the the hitcher? The hitch hitchhiker, the hitcher. It's in there. Hitcher. With Will Smith. No. No, that's Hitch. Mike, you frozen? Oh no, frozen. He's in thinking.

SPEAKER_02

Very still. Very much thinking. Is it my turn? It is your turn. Oh shit. I'm sorry. Um is oh, this might not.

SPEAKER_01

The abyss?

SPEAKER_02

Does that count? They're underwater. Oh. Underwater. Not in a vehicle. They're in an underwater station. I mean, okay. Oh, okay. I mean, if you want to give it to them, Justin, that's up to you. I feel like it unlocks a little bit of a survey.

SPEAKER_01

It unlocks another one for me. Which would be Deep Star 6. Which is amazing. Or Leviathan. They're all the three same movies. So good. What's the one with Treat Williams where he's on like the jet ski thing?

SPEAKER_02

I can't tell you because it's on the list. Okay, Mike. Is that your what do you think, Justin?

SPEAKER_01

Should we give it to him? You can give it a give him abyss. Okay. As long as I can have Leviathan.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, it's the same fucking movie, so yeah. I purposely was like, no, they don't count. Oh, I got another one, too. Wait, wait, wait. I got two more. I got two more. Mike. Let's go back on land. Terror Train. Terror Train is on the list. Man, you guys are killing it.

SPEAKER_01

All right. All right, with the train. The Midnight Meat Train.

SPEAKER_02

Good one. Beautiful movie. All right, Mike. It's up to you.

SPEAKER_00

Um, there's probably like a bunch of trained fucking movies. I shit now I don't know. It's probably a thriller, isn't it?

SPEAKER_02

Murder on the Orient Express. It's probably a thriller. Mystery.

SPEAKER_01

If Agatha Christie wrote it, it's not scary enough.

SPEAKER_02

Car train. Death Race.

SPEAKER_03

Is that a action or horror?

SPEAKER_02

Death Race 2000 is not on the list. I think that's the one you're talking about with that Carradine guy. It had Sylvester Stallone. Yeah. Had uh David Kern. You know what? It's not on my list. But I'll look it up. So it says it's a horror movie. It's in. Death Race 2000 1975 with David Keradine, Sylvester Stallone. B action, car action, dark comedy, dystopian sci-fi action, comedy, sci-fi sport. Damn. Okay. Nope. Mike is out at nine. Still pretty good. Justin, you can do. You went first, so you can do one more.

SPEAKER_01

One more, so I can have one more. Let's go with howl. Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Howl. Okay. Werewolves. Train. So you guys missed. There's actually snakes on a train. Oh. Oh, no shit. Kujo. Cujo. They're trapped in that goddamn car the whole time. Let's see. Dead end, the car, Jeepers Creepers. That fucking crazy rig he's driving around the whole time. Yeah. Let's see. The hearse. I mean, that's a really old one. Phantasm. He's driving around a fucking crazy hearse. And they're all driving around like souped-up sports, not muscle cars.

SPEAKER_01

What about the with uh what's the one with Treat Williams where he's in the jet ski or whatever?

SPEAKER_02

Is Deep Rising takes place on a cruise ship? That was a good one. Anaconda. They're on that fucking boat going down the Amazon the whole time. Below, which is like a ghost submarine, the boat. Last voyage of the Demeter. That's when you just guess when you're all out of guesses. You're just like, ah, the boat. The car the boat. The train train. Those are probably all horror movies. Probably okay. 1947's the car. And that round, Justin picked up another 11. Mike picked up nine. So going into the final round, Justin has 22. Mike has 17. Okay. 17 and 22. So you can bid up to whatever you have, or you can bid zero. Okay. So go ahead and write down your number.

SPEAKER_01

Wait, do we have to do we get the question first? I like Mike's rule where we get the question part. Okay. And I should have been zero on that freaking.

SPEAKER_02

So I am going to give you three horror movie franchises. Okay. And you have to tell me which in order, one, two, three, from highest gross to lowest gross. For the whole franchise. The whole franchise. Okay. And there's three of them. Highest to lowest. From highest to lowest. Okay. So it's not going to be child's play. But if it was child's play versus the Jaws movies, for instance. If Jaws made more, Jaws is number one. Jaws made more. Child's play is number two.

SPEAKER_01

Highest to lowest.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Highest to lowest.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. So your three choices are, and I've scrambled them up. Okay.

unknown

Scramble them up.

SPEAKER_02

I'm not going to give them to you in order. Just please. Okay. So the first franchise is Resident Evil. Ten movies. And another one coming out, I think. Your second franchise is Saw. Also with 10 movies. With probably seven or eight in the pipeline. Fucking know. You can't get rid of that goddamn series. And then the last one is Alien. I didn't write down how many movies they've got. Are we including AVPs? No. Those are crossovers. Those don't count. Six.

SPEAKER_01

One through three and Prometheus and Prometheus, Covenant. And then Romulus or Romulus. Romulus.

SPEAKER_02

I'm sure there's another one in the queue, but it doesn't count.

SPEAKER_01

And AVPs don't count.

SPEAKER_02

Resident Evil saw an alien from highest to lowest. Now, let's say somebody gets it right and somebody gets it wrong. And we're going to make this worth 10 points. No, no, whatever you bid. Whatever you bid. Right, right, right. I'm just going to randomly make it worth 300, Justin. Boom. Okay. So if you if for whatever reason there's if there's if you guys are tied after this, there's a secret question. Oh no. In the sealed envelope. Oh, wow. A sealed envelope.

SPEAKER_01

The answer is in here. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like we should tie just to see what's in the sealed level.

SPEAKER_02

So if there's a if you guys get this line up with the same score, and I'll remind you what your score is. Justin, you have 22, so you can wager up to 22. Mike, you have a 17, so you can wager up to 17. Have you guys are you guys ready for the or have you your answers?

SPEAKER_01

Have we our answers or have we our bids? Or both? Both.

SPEAKER_02

You should show me the answers in order and include how much you are bidding or risking. You guys ready? So let me know. I'm ready.

SPEAKER_01

I have to sh we have to show you the the bid.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

You can't just tell me one. And then the only bid one. Okay, hold on. Let me let me put them in order. Highest to lowest, right?

SPEAKER_02

Highest grossing to lowest grossing.

SPEAKER_01

Hey, real quick, which one made the most money, Charlie?

SPEAKER_02

Child's play. Dang it. My mustache looks like a bat. I can make it fly. Watch.

unknown

That's pretty good.

SPEAKER_01

That's pretty good.

SPEAKER_02

I'm giving you I'm covering for you. I'm giving you time.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Alright, come on. Alright. There's only there's just three of them, yeah. Alright. TikTok, motherfucker. TikTok was a book, but it was not made into a movie.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh. All right. Jesus Christ, let's go. I've got it. I've got my number, circle, and then my order. Okay. You got yours? Okay.

SPEAKER_02

So let's see what your answers are. Okay. I bet 17.

SPEAKER_01

Alright. 17. I bet four. Just so I couldn't lose if he, you know, did the Charlie and bet just enough to make me lose. I bet four. And Mike, or just if you have in order. I said Saw, Resident Evil, and Alien.

SPEAKER_02

That's also what I put. B A C 17 points. Damn it. B A C. Wait a minute. Okay. So I went Saw Resident Evil Alien as well.

SPEAKER_01

Damn it.

SPEAKER_02

Saw Elizabeth. And you guys have them in the exact upside-down order. Good. Really? Alien has made over$2 billion. Resident Evil$1.24 billion. And Saw just cracked a billion with$1.04. I feel like Prometheus and Romulus didn't do well for some reason.

SPEAKER_01

I figured Romulus did like it did a couple hundred mil, I think.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. They suffer from the exact opposite. Prometheus was too much story. Romulus was no story. I liked it.

SPEAKER_01

Alright, so our winner. I got 18, and he got 18 points.

SPEAKER_02

Sorry, Mike. That's fine. And will be our next stab in the dark host. I feel like I had to risk it all. Justin Ward. Woo! Good work, Justin.

SPEAKER_01

Alright. So that'll be approximately a month. How'd he do it?

SPEAKER_02

Was that okay? I mean, was it Charlie?

SPEAKER_01

I'm a skill job. I'm so curious about this sealed envelope, though.

SPEAKER_02

I'll save you for the next time I have to host in seven years. I'll put the date on it. What's it the 10th? 10th? Just pop that open for fun. Come on. 20. But it's all sealed and everything. Oh, you don't want to carry that around. I'll give you the question and you guys give the answer. Okay. That's what we do, isn't it? The answer is in here. Okay, so here's the question, just for shits and gigs. The question is what is Charlie's top five horror movies? Oh, God. You get a point for getting it on the list. You get two points if you get it in the right sequence. Top five. No, don't tell me. Write them down. Not Mike knows.

SPEAKER_01

Now Mike knows.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, I was guessing that too. But what number is it? I mean, you both get a point for that, but in order? In order. One, two, three, four, five. What? Yes. And if you get number one right, you get two points for that answer.

SPEAKER_01

Making shit up now. No, I just said that.

SPEAKER_02

Go back to the recording. Top five. Charlie's favorite horror movies. There's five of them. One, two, three, three, three.

SPEAKER_01

Martyrs is up there, right?

SPEAKER_02

Probably not. Okay, so you put them in order, whatever order you think. If you get it that order right, you get a point for having it right, that right answer, and then you get a point for having it in the right order. So if you say one is martyrs and one happens to be martyrs, you get two points. If you say martyrs and it's not on the list, which I guarantee you it is not, you get zero points.

SPEAKER_01

Alright. I've got a good enough guess. You got a good enough guess, Mike? Yep. Don't you read yours first?

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Number one. We'll both read ours and then like you can tell us the real order.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Mike. Number one, dog soldiers.

SPEAKER_01

Oh shit, I forgot about dog soldiers.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Number two, Dawn of the Dead. Okay. Number three, Evil Dead Two. Okay. Number four, Cabin in the Woods. Okay. Number five, VFW. I mean, it's moving up the list. It's not. Okay. So, Mike, you got a one. Just one. Just one. Wow. And it was not in the right order. Okay, Justin, what do you got?

SPEAKER_01

Number one. Yeah. Dawn of the Dead.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Number two, Tremors. Number three, the Blair Witch Project. Number four, Evil Dead Two, and number five, Sean of the Dead. Blair Four. What was number four? Evil Dead Two, which probably is wrong because it wasn't. And number five is Dawn of the Dead.

SPEAKER_02

Shawn of the Dead. Oh, I mean. Okay, so Justin, you got two. Here is the list.

SPEAKER_00

Aliens, the thing, Tremors, Jaws, Dawn of the Dead.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. It's a pretty good list. Pretty good list. Does it match his Mount Rush core?

SPEAKER_02

I don't know. I was trying to think back to that intro episode we did forever ago, and I'm like, damn, what do we have on that list?

SPEAKER_01

I know, I know. Dawn of the Dead was on then.

SPEAKER_02

So we did that list a few years ago, the that top 100 movies. Yeah. And then it's I updated it over the years. So I mean, it's not I didn't update it today, but I just like, man, what can I do for a tiebreaker question? Okay. Nice. All right. Justin gets two on that one. One to Mike. Yeah. Justin's still the winner.

SPEAKER_01

I won the shits and giggles round.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. You got to do all the homework next time.

SPEAKER_01

That was a lot of fun, Charlie. Thank you so much. Gonna come with some good ones. I'm gonna go, I'm gonna be like this French novel. Martyrs was a book, wasn't it?

SPEAKER_02

Probably. Probably. I think it was.

SPEAKER_01

I think it was all like stupid fucking books. It was probably a banned book.

SPEAKER_02

A banned, but yeah, it was probably all burned after the movie came out. I don't see it on the list, but it probably was. Probably.

SPEAKER_01

This was a book, probably.

SPEAKER_02

I did was researching like trivia, horror movie trivia and stuff, and martyrs was on one of these lists, and I was like immediately disregarded. Oh all the all the information they had. I was like, fuck that. It was like martyrs, Bobaduk. And you would have got it too, because it was and it was a hard question. It was like this French director directed what movie?

SPEAKER_01

Loger or something. Yeah, Pascal Loger. That's it. Pascal Siakam. Le Dumas. La Dumas. Man, I'm not. I'm gonna have to bring my A game for questions.

SPEAKER_02

Alright, guys. So that was a Gory Stab in the Dark, Episode Four. Yeah. Justin's a winner, so he'll be hosting our next one. Number five. Yeah. The Empire Strikes Back. The best of the private tag movies, episode five. All right. You're gonna take us out of here, Charlie? I'll try. Okay. So hey guys, thanks for listening. We know you're all devoted fans, especially our fan in Morocco and our one fan in the UK, even though we shit on the UK all the time. Follow, review. That's great. Send us some ideas. SPEAKER_01

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

All right. For Justin, for Mike, for me, Charlie. Thanks for tuning in and listening to Stab in the Dark. Stab in the Dark number five on the all guts. Well, number four. Number five's on the next one. You know what I mean. Come on, guys. I don't do homework. Well, all guts so gory. Thanks a lot. Take us out of here, Mike. Andy, take us home.

SPEAKER_00
